This article explains how to use Oracle Database Profile (DBA_PROFILES) to secure your organization and limit resources based on user task’s priorities. You can see default profile setting from DBA view (DBA_PROFILES). These profiles are very useful for organizations which have high volume of users (> 1000).

DBA_PROFILES Recommendations

How to setup

Use the CREATE PROFILE statement to create a profile, which is a set of limits on database resources. If you assign the profile to a user, then that user cannot exceed these limits.
